Village Hall for Hire in Perth & Kinross
A warm welcome to the Braco Village Hall, the community hub serving local residents as well as the many visitors who come to enjoy time in this beautiful part of the country.
Braco Village Hall was built in 1926 through the generosity of the Muir Family of Braco Castle. In 1933 the District Council agreed that a local committee should have their own constitution regulating everything relating to the management of the hall including the appointment of new Trustees.
Council and Trustees Partner to Sustain Our Village Hall
However, an agreement was drawn up in the 1990’s between Perth & Kinross Council (Education Property Department) and the Hall Trustees following the council’s recognition of the increased strain on the community with respect to the hall maintenance, running costs and demand due to the growing Braco and Greenloaning communities and increased use by the primary school.
Perth and Kinross Council now essentially cover the costs of the general maintenance of the building and utilities (heating, electricity etc) for which Braco and Greenloaning are very grateful, whilst the Hall Trustees have the continued responsibility of the internal maintenance and managing the use of the hall.
Making Our Village Hall a Thriving Hub for All
We’d like the hall to be used as much as possible and continue to be the hub of our community.
With the above in mind, it is the aim of the Hall Trustees to continue maximising the benefit of the hall and promoting it’s use to the community, and indeed those further afield, so that one day the hall may become self-sustaining once again should the Council hand the hall back to the community.
